Oktoberfest: Beirgarten, Bourbon, Wine and Food

September 14, 2016—Maumee, OH, September 13, 2016 – Walt Churchill’s Market (WCM) in Maumee will celebrate Oktoberfest September 23 & 24, 2016.

Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, is the largest festival in the world. WCM invites the area to celebrate this 200 year plus Bavarian tradition with a weekend full of events. During the celebration Chef Bill Kohloff will be cooking German favorites including Wiener Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, Muncher Biersuppe (Munich Beer Soup), Sauerkraut Salad and of course Potato Pancakes with fresh made applesauce. Our menu will be paired with beer selections offered during our Biergarten patio party, taking place on Friday, September 23rd from 4- 7pm. Guest will enjoy beer samples from area favorite breweries including 17th State, Abita, Tröegs and Rhinegiest in an Oktoberfest atmosphere.

Saturday, September 24th, from 12pm to 2pm the day will begin on the patio with a Bourbon Tasting. Led by Dave Robison our Whisky expert featuring a selection of Cleveland Underground Whiskey.

Beginning at 2 pm the patio will turn into a wine pavilion, led by WCM’s own Richard Fortney. He has picked a perfect pairing of German and Austrian wines for an Oktoberfest themed Wine Tasting that will serve well with our tasty Bavarian food menu.

This event is open to the public. Our Bavarian menu will also be available in the stores Café all weekend long. Patio events require an ID, 21 and over please. Biergarten and Bourbon Tasting require five dollar cover fee. Wine Tasting flights start at ten dollars for four samples.
